Prior to black oxide coating, it is imperative to have the necessary RA for proper adherence as black oxide is produced by a chemical reaction between the iron on the surface of the ferrous metal and the oxidizing salts present in the black oxide solution. These oxidizing salts include penetrates, catalysts, activators and proprietary additives which all take part in the chemical reaction. The result of this chemical reaction is the formation of black iron oxide, magnetite (Fe3O4), on the surface of the metal being coated.

Guyson’s RXS product line is ideal for such an operation as our cabinets utilize a door design sized perfectly for the batch processing of gun slides, silencer components, etc. The Guyson RXS product line also utilizes CAMCO as an Indexer; this provides the indexing accuracy which allots for 100% repeatability as well as the capacity to add future automation. RXS-series machines are available in many cabinet sizes, from 2 or more spindles for high speed and high volume processing. In these machines, the fixtured components are presented to the blast from multiple guns as the part is rotated at controlled and adjustable speed during the timed blast cycle. Guyson is certified with a FLL and has the capacity to test a large range of products in the firearm industry.
